In Safar-e-Patshahi IX Series No. 82 we heard that Guru Teg Bahadur Ji reached the potters’ quarters at village Pandher and connected them with Naam Bani
In this series we will hear that Guru Teg Bahadur Ji goes ahead to preach in villages like Kattu, Kumbarwal, Suhiana, Handiaya etc., where Gurdwara Sahib is adorned in the memory of Guru Sahib Ji
In the previous series No. 81 we had heard the history of Bhai Sangha Ji, where Gurdwara Sahib now stands at village Khiva Kalan. Now we have reached the next village Kattu. When Guru Teg Bahadur sahib ji reached the village of Kattu, there lived a sadhu who was known as Bhai Dhyana Ji or Bhai Dhanna Ji. When Bhai Dhyana Ji came to visit Guru Sahib Ji, Guru Teg Bahadur Ji explained the real technique to Bhai Dhyana Ji through Bani.
“Kahe re ban khojan jai,
Sarab nivasi sada alepa tohi sang samai”
Guru Sahib explained in the following words:
“Bande khoj Dil Har roj
Na phir paresani mah”
Guru Teg Bahadur explained to him with more loving words-
“Farida Jangal Jangal Kya Bhavah Van Kanda Moreh,
Vasi Rab hialiai Jangal Kia dhudheh”
When Guru Teg Bahadur Ji explained this through Bani, Bhai Dhianu Ji became a disciple of Guru Sahib Ji and he would bring devotion and faith in his mind. Guru Teg Bahadur Ji told Bhai Dhyanu Ji the path of true devotion and promised-
“Sachai marag chaladia usatat kre Jahan”
Bhai Dhyana Ji became a disciple of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji. Sangat from nearby villages also used to visit Guru Teg Bahadur. Mai from nearby village Kumbarwal came and served milk and lassi. From here, when Guru Teg Bahadur started advancing, Guru Sahib’s horse stopped short. Guru Sahib Ji was leading the sangat. At the forefront was Guru Sahib’s horse. When the horse did not move forward, Guru Sahib felt that there was some reason. Guru Teg Bahadur sent the Sikhs to find out why his horse was not moving forward. The Sikhs found out that someone had planted a tobacco field. Knowing the truth, so even Guru Sahib’s horse did not move forward. Today, Gurdwara Arisar Sahib is adorned on that site.
From here, Guru Teg Bahadur ji proceeded towards the village of Suhiana. Here Guru Sahib tied his horse under the kicker tree. After stopping there for a while, Guru Sahib proceeded. Today Gurdwara Suhiana Sahib is also present at this place. The village of Handiaya is nearby. When the sangat of Handiaya village came to know that in every village where Guru Tegh Bahadur sets foot, the mentally ill are cured and at the same time with the blessings of Guru Sahib Ji the diseases of the body are cured. Here in Handiaya village also Guru Sahib Ji connected the sangat with Naam Bani and also cured the disease of throat disease in the village. Sometimes we see that some people get sore throat, which causes the throat to become thick and swollen due to sores in the throat. Guru Sahib Ji also cured this disease. There was a pond nearby, in which people did not bathe out of fear. Guru Sahib Ji asked the reason for not taking bath here. That’s why we don’t bathe here. Guru Sahib laughed and said that it was very important to get rid of the leprosy of caste. Guru Sahib himself bathed there first and later all the Sikh sangats bathed there. Guru Sahib said that you call it a puddle of a single caste and it is not a good deed.
“Jat janam nah pushiai,
Sach Ghar leh batai,
Sa jat sa pat hai jehe karam kamai”
Guru Sahib explained to them very beautifully through Gurbani and dispelled the superstition of the villagers in the name of caste. Guru Sahib also enlarged the pond. He also got her cleaned and told her to take maximum bath here and not to have any superstition. Today the pond has turned into a sarovar and where Guru Sahib was seated, the beautiful Gurdwara Gurusar Sahib is also adorned. You are visiting this Gurdwara Sahib.
Next in series 84 we will hear the next history.
