Today we have reached village Morh Kalan. Morh Kalan village was established by a landlord. Sikhs had already come to this village at the time of Guru Hargobind sahib Ji. The names of the Sikhs who were sent to Guru Hargobind sahib Ji from the family of this landlord were – Bhai nathu ji , Bhai Raghu ji, Bhai Lola ji, Bhai Mirza ji, Bhai Asa ji. So, the family of the landlord who had established this town had also converted to Sikhism but later there was a great superstition in the village about this place. No villager used to come to this place. Especially at night people did not come here out of fear because there was fear among the people that there was a ghost or jinn living here. There may be black businesses that have intimidated people. All these things were reaching Guru Teg Bahadur Ji. Guru Sahib came to this place to dispel this superstition and pitched his tents. The Guru Sahib was accompanied by about 300 Sikhs. The number may be more or less as Sikhs go on preaching and join other sangat. About 300 sangat came and camped here. Kirtan was performed in the evening. The next day when the villagers found out, they started talking to each other that a sadhu saint had come and sat at the place where the jinn or ghost soul lived and nothing happened to them.

The village informants came to Guru Sahib and in fear they asked the Sikhs, “Are you not afraid?” Did you find any ghosts? Didn’t a jinn scare you? Then the Sikhs said that Guru Sahib Ji knows everything. These informants of the village gathered and went to the Guru ji. To get rid of one superstition, one has to resort to another superstition. At the behest of Guru Sahib, those Sikhs dispelled the superstition among the villagers by saying that Guru Sahib had beaten the jinn at night and chased them away. So you have nothing to fear. Now you can come. When the villagers came to Guru Sahib, he inwroughted the Diwan. In that Diwan Guru Ji explained to those people through Gurbani –

“Maya Mohu Pret Hai Kamu Krodhu Ahankara”

Meaning the attachment to Maya is the biggest ghost. Guru Sahib Ji also said –

“Kali Meh Preet Jin Ram na Pachhata”

Meaning the biggest ghosts in Kal Yug are those who don’t chant God’s name. Gurbani dispels all superstitions. Guru Sahib Ji explained that the biggest jinn are inside our house.

“Kali andar nanaka jinnanh da autar

Put jinura dhee jinnuri joru jinna da sikadar”

Meaning sons, daughters and mothers are also jinn who do not do Bandagi of God ie do not walk on the true path. There is no other genie greater than these. They need to be feared. We do not need to be afraid of anything else. Guru Teg Bahadur ji dispelled the superstition among the people and today this ancient Gurdwara Sahib is present at that place. At the same time a new building of Gurdwara Sahib is being constructed. Sarovar Sahib is also present here. So, at this place there is a huge Gurdwara Sahib at village Morh Kalan in district Bathinda where langar is running all the time. We will hear further in Series No. 71 which villages Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji goes to next and what is the history there.
