In this series we will hear that Guru Teg Bahadur Ji is sitting under a tahli tree during his preaching in Bathinda, the history of which still exists today

During his visit to the Malwa in Punjab, Guru Teg Bahadur ji was preaching in the villages near Bathinda and also solving the problems of the people. When Guru Sahib Ji reached this area, there was a small forest. There were lots of trees. Guru Sahib came here and camped. The Guru ji again preached in nearby villages. The Guru sahib also provided water at this place. Today there is a Sarovar Sahib and a well at this place. There is a berry tree, which is on the very edge of the Sarovar Sahib and the well. It bears fruit twice a year. The history of the Tahli tree under which Guru Teg Bahadur ji sat is still alive today. The tahli tree is the state tree of Punjab and is also called the sagban of the Malwa. If the tahli tree is viewed from a scientific point of view, one can get a tannic from it, from which many indigenous medicines are prepared. It is used to treat leprosy, stomach worms, mucus, vomiting, jaundice and many other ailments. At that time it was the state tree of Punjab. Another thing is that this tree is known as Rosewood. With the passage of time that tahli tree has been destroyed but with the wisdom of the villagers that work has been done which will amaze you. The villagers, with the help of a mason, have also made a square inside the Gurdwara Sahib out of that tahli tree. Inside Gurdwara Sahib, Manji Sahib is also made of the same tree trunk. They are very beautiful craftsmen. They have made wooden pavilions and decorated them inside Gurdwara Sahib. Elsewhere, if a tree is damaged, it can be preserved in this way. At this place a mother begged Guru Sahib Ji to please share my womb. People turn away from me. I have no children at home. Guru Sahib Ji promised that mother that when the time comes, your family will prosper a lot. Know the truth, the words of Guru Sahib Ji are fulfilled even today. In time, the mother had five sons. 5 boxes were made in the name of those sons. The names of those 5 villages are known as 5 Khanas – Mesarkhana, Manakkhana, Dhan Singh Khana, Raikhana, Chalalathankhana. These 5 villages are named after the sons of that mother. Even today the mother’s family lives in these 5 cells in Bathinda. These are the words of our Guru Sahib Ji, which are being fulfilled till today. The next history we will hear in series 70. Wherever Guru Teg Bahadur Ji went, we will go to every village and find the history there and pass it on to you.
