In this series we will hear that Guru Teg Bahadur Ji arrives at Dhamdhan Sahib and accepts the service of a Sikh
Today we will talk about Dhamdhan Sahib. This Gurdwara Dhamdhan Sahib is adorned in Haryana. Guru Teg Bahadur Ji comes here twice. According to some sources, Guru Ji reached Dhamdhan Sahib on the day of Baisakhi 1665 AD via Khemkaran, Bhai Ka Droli, Talwandi Sabo. The second time Guru Sahib arrives here on Diwali in November. Guru Sahib’s visit to Dhamdhan Sahib is mentioned twice. The sangat is requested that on the arrival of Guru Sahib at Dhamdhan Sahib, different scholars have different opinions regarding the routes. In the future, all the scholars need to work hard, unite and go back to the land of the Malwa to map the roads, so that the complications that remain today are removed.
It requires a lot of hard work. It needs to be read by our Panthic scholars. So, as much effort has been made by Das, it has been done by reading all the Granths. When Guru Teg Bahadur ji reached Dhamdhan Sahib, Guru Sahib established a center of preaching here. Guru Teg Bahadur ji wanted to form an organization by staying in the area. Chaudhary Bhai Daggu Ji of this area did a lot of service to Guru Sahib Ji. Guru Sahib Ji called Bhai Daggu Ji and said that we have started giving you Maya to make this area flourish for this sangat .
With this Maya, good taverns, wells and gardens have to be installed so that the coming sangat and the people of this area do not have any problem. It is not possible for us to estimate the amount of Maya that Guru Sahib Ji had given for the installation of those Saravas, wells and gardens but Guru Sahib Ji had given a lot of Maya to Chaudhary Daggu. After the departure of Guru Teg Bahadur ji, the mind of this Chaudhary became greedy.
“Pap Bura papi kou piara”
Meaning, he who has sin in his mind, loves sin. These Puranas are also told to us by Guru Teg Bahadur Ji.
“Lobhi ka vesah na kijai je ka par vasai”
That means one should never trust greedy people. They even cheat with the Guru. They even sell it to God and eat it. This Chaudhary bought land for planting wells, taverns and gardens but got the land in his name. He imposed all that Maya on himself. When Guru Teg Bahadur ji comes back here and finds out all this, Guru Sahib lovingly explains to him that your mistake is very big. The Maya that was given to you for the public good.
You have imposed all that Maya on yourself. “I made a mistake,” he said. I have no Maya left now. Guru Sahib Ji promised that if you know the truth, today you have got the land in its name in your name, you have used all the money on yourself. But don’t plant tobacco on this land. The thief made the same mistake again and planted tobacco on his land. He who betrays the Guru is never forgiven. He has to pay for it. On the other hand, if one does Seva, then he also gets his reward. It is stated in Gurbani:
“Ik til nahi bhannai ghale”It means that Guru Sahib does not allow us to waste even a single sesame service.
