Guru Teg Bahadur sahib ji started his preaching tour with his entire family, Mata Gujri ji, Mata Nanaki ji and other Sikhs. Now Guru Teg Bahadur ji arrives here. Gurdwara Naulakha Sahib is situated here. The Guru ji comes and sits here and connects the sangat with Naam Bani. The nearby sangat also come to Guru Sahib with devotion. The Guru sahib was sitting near Saifabad. The sangat had come to know that Guru ji was in the area. Guru Sahib listens to everyone’s sorrows. Superstitions are removed from illusions and attached to Naam Bani. When the Guru Ji comes here, the sangat from nearby also reach this place. Diwans are decorated daily. The flow of Naam Bani continues. There, a trader named Lakhi Naam, who knew about Guru Sahib, lost his ox. He prays to Guru Teg Bahadur ji that Guru Sahib, if my ox is found then I can do my remaining work. By God’s grace his ox is found. He happily comes to Guru Sahib with the ox. At that time he had only 9 takas. He came and presented those 9 takas to Guru Sahib. The Guru Sahib distributed them among the sangat. It occurred to him that I had only 9 cents. If I had more money, Guru Sahib would keep it. After a short stay, Guru Sahib gave them to the sangat. The Guru Ji went to know this.
“Ghat ghat ke Antar ki jaanat,
Bhale bure ki peer pachhaanat”
The Guru called him and asked him what he was thinking. He started saying that Guru ji, I had only 9 taka today. I will work harder and bring money and offer it at your feet. Guru Sahib seated him beside him. Guru Sahib told him that your 1-1 taka is equal to 1-1 lakh for us. This is equivalent to 9 per cent 9 lakh. A shell offered to Guru Sahib in devotion, faith and trust is also acceptable. Guru Tegh Bahadur ji explained to the whole Sangat that the house of Guru Nanak Sahib is the giver of gifts. So, according to the tradition of the village, when we informed the elders of the village about the history of the village, the villagers also told us that Guru Sahib had led the village with his own hand. The name of the village, where this Gurdwara Sahib is adorned today, was changed to Naulakha in the name of 9 Tak, meaning 9 lakh. You are visiting this Gurdwara Sahib. The name of Gurdwara Sahib is Naulakha Sahib. Sangat ji, we also bring offerings to Guru Sahib but what is the true offering Gurbani does not say that Guru Sahib has to keep too many notes or the same offering will be accepted which will keep too many notes or keep too many offerings. Gurbani tells us what offering to make before Guru Sahib. What offering would Guru Sahib be happy with? Gurbani says:
“Pher k agai rakhiai jit disai darbar”
Meaning what should we put in front of him so that we can see his true court.
“Muhau ki bolnu bolai jit sun dhare pyar”
That is to say, what should we say out of the mouth that they hear?
“Amrit Vela Sachu Nao Wadai Vicharu”
Meaning God’s name should be chanted at that time of life. Praise Him and consider His glories because only due to good deeds we have got this body cloth ie Patola in the form of love.
“Karmi Aave Kapra Nadri Mokhu Duaaru”
When we come under the Nadar of God, coming under His sight we will see the door of Mokh meaning we will find that path of spiritual bliss. This is the gift of God that we put before Him the gift of love, ie the gift of His glory and thought. God is pleased with our offerings. He is giving us these worldly things, which we are happy to put before him. God is pleased with such offerings that are praised and considered. So, in this way we make an offering in the form of Naam to Guru Sahib. Let us read Gurbani as much as possible and consider the Shabad. Let us dedicate our mind at the feet of God. That is the real offering. So, it won’t take long for 9 per cent to 9 lakh. So, let’s visit this Gurdwara Naulakha Sahib. After this Guru Ji goes to the next village. What is the history of Langh village, we will hear in Safar A Patshahi IX Series No. 54.
