During the time of Guru Nanak Sahib, education was done in madrassas or pathshalas. Guru Nanak Sahib used to go to Pathshala where Guru Ji used to teach Sanskrit and Mathematics. Then They go to madrassas where they were also introduced to the Persian language. Guru Sahib Ji studied very well in his life. After Guru Nanak Sahib, Guru Angad Sahib ji opened a very large school at Khadur Sahib. Guru Angad Sahib ji modified the 35 letters and, following the words of Guru Nanak Sahib, prepared Gurmukhi prisoners. Guru Sahib Ji started teaching Gurmukhi language to children and elders. These classes were first started by Guru Angad Dev Ji. In Guru Sahib’s school where other languages ​​were taught, one had to go abroad for education but Guru Angad Sahib himself conducted classes for children and elders to study Gurmukhi language. Students and teachers trained so that the need for education to read and understand Gurbani can be met, Gurmukhi language can be learned in a better way and pure Punjabi can be spoken only then we can pronounce Gurbani correctly. Guru Amar Das ji continued these classes at Goindval Sahib. Goindval Sahib is said to be the hub of Sikhism. These classes continued at Goindwal Sahib. A school was opened to teach education. This is where Guru Amar Das ji himself used to learn Siranda. He also taught Siranda to Guru Arjan sahib ji. Kirtan and Raag Vidya classes were also conducted. While living at Goindval Sahib, Guru Ram Das ji himself learned the Raag. Guru Arjan sahib ji himself also learned Raag Vidya. After that when Guru Granth Sahib Ji was first seated at Amritsar Sahib, The first granthi, Baba Buddha ji, was appointed as a granthi, he also taught in Gurmat Vidyalaya and taught Gurmukhi.

Guru Arjan sahib ji sent Guru Hargobind ji to Baba Buddha ji to study. The rest of the Guru’s sons also received Santhia from Baba Buddha ji. Where Guru Hargobind ji himself received Santhia from Baba Buddha Ji. Now during the time of Guru Teg Bahadur ji, Baba Buddha ji had opened a very large school at Ramdas. Guru Hargobind ji sent Guru Teg Bahadur ji for education to Baba Buddha ji at Ramdas at the age of four. Teg Bahadur Ji wrote Gurmukhi script while living with Baba Buddha Ji and received the Santhia of Gurbani. Not only did he study the Santhiya of Gurbani and the Gurmukhi script but he also learned a great deal from Baba Buddha Ji. Guru Sahib was greatly impressed by the life of Baba Buddha ji. That is the daily routine of Amrit Vela, going to Darbar Sahib and sitting there, fulfilling the responsibility in Darbar sahib, doing seva. There Baba Buddha ji used to plow and cultivate and take out one tenth of his livelihood and send it to the Guru’s house. Guru Sahib saw all this from the age of 4 to the age of 6 and Enjoyed history from Guru Nanak Sahib Ji to his father. Heard from Baba Buddha Ji the story of the martyrdom of his grandfather Guru Arjan Dev Ji. For six consecutive years, Guru Teg Bahadur ji had understood many aspects of Baba Buddha ji’s life. He kept the earnings made in the life of Baba Buddha Ji in his Heart. What other teachings were imparted to Guru Teg Bahadurji from Baba Buddha ji along with the Santhia of Gurbani.
