In Safar-E-Patshahi IX Series No. 29, we made the readers hear that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji reaches his native village while preaching.
In this series we will hear that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji reached Khemkaran Sahib while preaching and there are also historical Gurdwaras built in the memory of Guru Sahib Ji
Guru Tegh Bahadur ji reaches Khemkaran via Tarn Taran, Khadur Sahib and Goindwal Sahib. Khemkaran Nagar was founded by Khemkaran, son of Rai Bahadur Bidhi Chand. Some traces of Khemkaran’s mansion still exist today. This is the mansion which is located right next to Gurdwara Chain Sahib. The area was formerly part of Pakistan’s Kasur district. Later, after the partition of India and Pakistan… this part came to Punjab and today this image is present in Khemkaran in Tarn Taran district. It is located 64 km from Amritsar and 42 km from Jhabal. Raghupat Rai, son of Bhai Mool Chand, a local Sikh, brings Guru Tegh Bahadur ji from Goindval Sahib to his town at his request. Here the sangat begin to unite. Two Sikhs from here, Bhai Chain Ji and Bhai Dhigana Ji appear at the feet of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. When Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji called Bhai Chain Ji, his beard was so big that some Sikhs bring Bhai Chain Ji at the feet of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji holding his beard in their hands. So that it does not stick to the ground. It was Bhai Chain Singh Ji in whose memory Gurdwara Chain Sahib stands right next to Khemkaran’s mansion.
Another thing is that its appearance is similar to that of Gurdwara Sahib in Pakistan.
If you look at the Gurdwaras in Pakistan that are separated from us, we see the same look here. A largeGurdwara Sahib is being built here. So, I request the sangat to keep this place in such a way that the sangat can also visit the ancient Gurdwara Sahib. It was here that a Sikh Bhai Dhigana Sahib Ji requested Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji that Guru Sahib, as long as my breath lasts, no one should be worse than me. I continue to do Bandagi of God till my last breath. Please come to see me when I breathe out. Guru Tegh Bahadur began to say –
“Kaha Bisasa is bhahnde ka itanak lagai thanaka”
Guru Sahib Ji said that Bhai Dhigana Ji, no one knows that we should give up our breath before you. Bhai Dhigana Ji again requested Guru Sahib to accept my request that if you give up your breath before me then when you give up your breath then I can also give up my breath because I cannot bear this separation. It so happened that 11 years later, when Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji beheaded himself in Chandni Chowk for the protection of religion, the place where Bhai Dhigana Ji lived at that time, also took a sheet and lay down and gave up his life. The sangat here came to know that Guru Tegh Bahadur ji had also given up his life. Here is Gurdwara Chain Sahib named after Bhai Chain Ji. There is Gurdwara Dhigana Sahib in the fields named after Bhai Dhigana ji. Gurdwara Gurusar is present where Guru Tegh Bahadur ji was enthroned. Here Raghupat Rai also presented a horse to Guru Tegh Bahadur ji for the journey. So, Guru Tegh Bahadur ji connected the sangat of this area with Naam Bani and after Das had to work hard where Guru Tegh Bahadur ji goes. I had to meet the people of the village and told them that Guru Tegh Bahadur ji had come here after 400 years. So, in the next series No. 31 we will hear the next history.
