In Safar-e-Patshahi IX Series No. 25, we made the readers hear that when Guru Tegh Bahadur ji arrives at Amritsar Sahib, the masands locked up the Darbar Sahib and Guru Sahib bows down from a distance and moves on.
In this series we will listen to which villages Guru Sahib Ji went to and what promises he made
On 22nd November 1664 AD, Guru Tegh Bahadur ji along with his entire family started from Baba Bakale, Kaleke, Tarsika, Lehal and reached Amritsar Darbar Sahib in the evening, where Guru Sahib was not allowed to enter the Darbar Sahib and they locked up the Darshani Deodhi and left. Guru Sahib wakes up at Tharha Sahib and sets off in the evening. Gurdwara Damdama Sahib is situated at a distance of about 2 km from Darbar Sahib. Here Guru Sahib stops for a while. Every year from February to March a huge gathering is held here in the memory of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
A large number of Sangat gathers here. Pausing for a moment, Guru Tegh Bahadur ji moves on. Next, when they reach the fields, they see that Mata Haro Ji arrives with food for the workers sitting by the well. When they see the large sangat, Mata Haro Ji asks who they are, then the answer is that it is Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the youngest son of Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, who is now sitting on the ninth throne of Guru Nanak Sahib Ji. At that time there was no place for Mata Haro Ji’s happiness because she was very attached to Guru Ghar and Gurbani.
Mata Haro Ji placed that food in front of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and requested that food is for you, you taste it. Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji told Mata Ji that you have brought this Prasada for the workers working in the fields, it is their right. They are working, hungry. They need this food more than us. According to Gurbani-
“Hak paraia nanaka us suar us gai”
Meaning one should never eat anyone’s right. At the request of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, Mata Ji gave food to those workers. Mata ji requested that Guru Sahib, my house is nearby, you come to my house. Mata Haro Ji takes Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji to her house and walks away. Where Guru Sahib Ji stayed in the fields of Mata Haro Ji, today Gurdwara Guriana Sahib stands. There was also a well which was filled over due to lack of maintenance. Das also had a hard time finding this place. From here Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji goes to his village ‘Valle’ with Mata Haro Ji. Reaching the village, we will hear the words of Guru Sahib Ji, which are still with us today, in Series No. 27. In Safar-e-Patshahi IX, we will continue to show you where Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji went, who he met, which sangat he visited and what scriptures he found written in.
