In this series we will hear about Guru Har Krishan Ji’s visit to Delhi and Guru Har Rai Ji’s passing away
At Kiratpur Sahib in 1661, Guru Har Rai ji, approaching his last days, decided that the responsibility of gurtagaddi should be given to Guru Harkrishan ji. After the kirtan of Asa di Vaar at the time of Morning, Guru Harkrishan ji was enthroned in the crowded pandal. He was anointed with the title of Guru. According to Prof . Sahib Singh, Guru Harkrishan ji was 5 years and 3 months old at that time. Guru Harkrishan ji was greeted by the sangat and accepted as their Guru. When Ram Rai Ji found out about this, he thought that I was the eldest son, and I should have got Guruship but this throne has been given to my younger brother Guru Harkrishan Ji. Ramrai ji started knitting from that day on that I will be the owner of this Guru Nanak Sahib’s throne. Ramrai reached Delhi several times but Aurangzeb had already gone to Kashmir at that time. When Aurangzeb returned from Kashmir in 1664 AD, Ramrai Ji asked Aurangzeb for the right to be his Guru. As the eldest son, I am the owner of the Guruship. Let me be seated on the throne of Guru Nanak Sahib. Aurangzeb wanted Ramrai ji to become a Guru and he would follow me. So that I can make an impact on the entire Sikh world . At that time Guru Harkrishan Ji was about 7 years old and He was doing great things at a very young age. While living in Kiratpur, Guru Ji did things that we cannot even imagine.
If Guru Kirpa, we are going to videography of the entire life of Guru Harkrishan Ji soon. In it we will try to tell the whole life of Guru Harkrishan Ji. We are now only talking about the life of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
Aurangzeb invited Raja Jai Singh to bring Guru Harkrishan ji to Delhi because otherwise he would not come but to request the sangat to come and see Guru Harkishan ji. One of the reasons for this was that Ram Rai Ji was calling himself Guru in Delhi and was misleading the sangat. From Kiratpur Sahib the Guru was seated in a palanquin. With family and 2,200 horsemen. Passing through Kiratpur, the Guru reached here, where today is Gurdwara Panjokhra Sahib, near Ambala. At this place Guru Ji broke the pride of Pandit Lal Chand who used to say that you call yourself Harkrishan, Krishan Ji showed the meaning of Gita, you just show the meaning of 2 lines. Guru Har Krishan ji had shattered Lal Chand’s arrogance by interpreting the Gita from Chhajju Jhivar. So, going forward, both of them were so blessed that Pandit Lal Chand became Lal Singh on the Baisakhi of 1699 and was martyred in the fort of Chamkaur. Chhajju Jhivar was appointed Dharam Pracharak by Guru Harkrishan Ji. He moved to Orissa and later Bhai Sahib Singh Ji became Panj Pyare from his family.
When the Guru reached Delhi, passing through several cities from Panjokhara, according to Aurangzeb, Raja Jai Singh decided to take the Guru’s test. He disguised the queen as servant and servants as queens. When Guru Ji went into Raja Jai Singh’s room, Guru Ji went to the queen disguised as a servant and recognized her and said one thing-
“Maharaj ki tu patrani, Kaha kapat Karbe Bidh Fani “
Guru Harkrishan Ji told Raja Jai Singh and his queen why you needed to cheat. So, Guru Harkrishan Ji resides in Raja Jai Singh’s bungalow. The sangats come to visit and bring offerings. When Aurangzeb came to Guru Ji, Guru Ji did not look at Aurangzeb. According to the writers, Aurangzeb went back after standing for half an hour or three hours. Guru Har Krishan ji returned Aurangzeb, the emperor of India, who came at door at the age of seven. Guru Ji said that my father Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji has promised that-
“Nej Malesh Ko Darsan Dehain,
Neh Malesh Ko Darsan Lehain”
That it was his father’s order not to meet Aurangzeb. Looking at the historical facts, one more thing comes to light that when Guru Har Rai ji passed away in 1661 AD, Guru Tegh Bahadur ji was on a missionary tour in the areas near Lucknow and Kanpur. . When Guru Tegh Bahadur ji returns, it is learned that Guru Harkrishan ji has come to Delhi, so Guru Tegh Bahadur stops at Bhai Kaliana’s house in Delhi. The house of Bhai Kaliana ji where Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji stopped here on his way from Gwalior. Bhai Kaliana was a servant and devotee of the Guru’s house.
History also records that Guru Harkrishan ji and Guru Tegh Bahadur ji met for 3 days in this house from March 21 to March 23, 1664 AD. The evidence we get from the meeting between Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and Guru Harkrishan Ji is –
