Next to Salempur is the village of Khanpur. Khanpur is about 11 km from Salempur. When our team reached Khanpur village, Gurdwara Sahib is adorned on the firni of Khanpur. It is inscribed on the wall of Gurdwara Sahib that Guru Teg Bahadur ji spent the afternoon here and rested. We went inside and visited Gurdwara Sahib. There is also a Bohr tree inside Gurdwara Sahib. We found out the history of the place. Standing in Gurdwara Sahib, today this family has this Gurdwara Sahib. Today the same family has the responsibility of Gurdwara Sahib in which Sardar Jasbir Singh Ji, Sardar Jagat Singh Ji told that our old men, who came from Tarn Taran and settled here, had taken a fort from the mines. Parts of that fort still exist in the form of the old fort but now only the wall you are visiting remains. We learned from the village elders or their family that there was a huge fort here. There was another place where Guru Teg Bahadur ji’s Gurdwara Sahib is adorned. There is also a Bohr tree. There used to be a pipal tree here. When Bhai Khushhala Chowdhury from the same family came to know that Guru Teg Bahadur ji was passing by, Bhai Khushala Chaudhary, at his request, stopped Guru Teg Bahadur ji at this place and served the Guru’s langar. Guru Teg Bahadur ji bestowed immense blessings on him, which are the blessings of this family today. Gurdwara Sahib is built by the same family. You visit this Gurdwara .You are seeing the Lord. The pipal tree that used to be here does not exist today but there is a bohr tree in the same place. It is also within the boundaries of Gurdwara Sahib.
From here Guru Teg Bahadur ji reaches the village of Bani Badanpur. The village of Bani Badanpur is about 10 km from Khanpur. The villages of Bani and Badanpur are different. When our team passed through this village and reached Gurdwara Sahib, we visited Gurdwara Sahib. He also met Granthi Singh Ji from there. History also shows from Granthi Singh that when Guru Teg Bahadur Ji came here, he connected the Sangat with Naam Bani. He was taught Gurbani. At the same time the people here paid homage to Guru Teg Bahadur ji.He told Guru Sahib about his problem that there is a severe shortage of water. There are many problems due to lack of water. Guru Teg Bahadur ji called Ram Bakhsh, the chief of the area, and in the crowd, Guru Sahib carried a large bag of Maya, which contained a lot of Maya and which was called Badar of Maya. He handed over the Badar of Maya to Ram Bakhsh and asked him to plant a well and a garden here for the welfare of the people. Keep the Sangat connected with Gurbani by running the flow of Naam Bani. Keep doing sangat, keep using Guru’s inseparable langar and do good to other people. Keep up the good work. Saying this, Guru Sahib Ji gave that Maya to that chief Ram Bakhsh. After giving Maya, Guru Teg Bahadur ji goes to Mathura via Delhi. When Guru Teg Bahadur ji returns to the Punjab from Patna Sahib after many years, the second time Guru ji reaches the village of Bani Badanpur. Guru Sahib Ji found out about that Ram Bakhsh had used that Maya for his personal affairs. He did not plant any well or garden. Guru Teg Bahadur ji reunited and inspired the sangat here. The chief was also rebuked by Guru Sahib. According to the villagers, Guru Sahib dug seven wells with his own hands. There is a well at the back of Gurdwara Sahib, which is in working condition and will soon be well constructed.
There is another well that is buried above. The other 5 wells have no known whereabouts. There were 7 wells in total. Inside the village you see this place, there used to be Guru ka Bagh. Today there is a boundary at this place. The Nishan Sahib is also affixed. Manji Sahib was also present here earlier. A small room was also built but now this place is gone. More construction is taking place on the site soon. Another thing is that the Gurdwara of Guru Teg Bahadur ji was built about
When it was excavated, that is, the Gurudwara was demolished and rebuilt, Guru Teg Bahadur ji’s bed came out of the ground during the excavation. Even today this stone bed, where Guru Granth Sahib Ji is seated, has Bhora Sahib under it, there this bed is similarly maintained by the residents of the town. You can visit this Manji Sahib in Bani Badanpur.
