In this series we will hear that Guru Teg Bahadur Ji arrives at Sulisar Sahib where even the thieves find a straight path

At Sabo Ki Talwandi, Guru Teg Bahadur ji dug a pond for the villagers, where today Sarovar Sahib and Gurdwara Manji Sahib are adorned. It was here that Bhai Jagta Ji, a Sikh from Kot Dharmu, requested Guru Sahib Ji that our village Kot Dharmu is nearby. Bhai Janta Ji requested Guru Ji to visit his house. At the request of Bhai Jagta ji, Guru Tegh Bahadur ji arrives at the village of Kot Dharmu and sets up his place outside the village. Sikh sangat from far and wide come and join. There is Kirtan of Gurbani. Where good people come, bad people come. The lives of many are changed and many remain the same. Here too there are daily Diwans and the sangat join Naam Bani. Sodar is recited in the evening. Kirtan is sung by Bhai Natha Rababi ji. Guru Sahib Ji himself sings Kirtan.

According to Dr. Tirlochan Singh ji, 4 thieves, who used to live here, also come and sit in the sangat. According to Gurbani-

“Paap Bura paapi kau piara

Paap lade pape pasara”

Meaning sin is bad but it is loved by the sinner.

“Karami aapo apni ke nerai ke dur “

Meaning one gets closer to the Guru due to one’s deeds and one gets away. A thief never stops stealing. For him, even if it is the Guru’s house, temple, mosque and any other religious place. Two of these thieves, seeing an opportunity at night, stole two horses from Guru Sahib’s stable, where the horses are tied, and took the horses and started walking slowly. When the Sikhs found out that two horses were missing, they started chasing the horses. During the night, the Sikhs reached the place where the thieves were taking the horses. The Sikhs caught the thieves, tied their hands behind their backs and presented them in front of  Guru Sahib. When Guru Sahib’s Diwan was decorated, the Sikhs caught the thieves and brought them before Guru Sahib. The nature of Guru Sahib was as follows:

“Satgur sabhana da bhla manaida

Tis da Bura kiu hoye”

Guru Sahib Ji told the Sikhs to open their hands. When he opened his hands, Guru Ji said what kind of person you are. At least forgive the laps of the poor. Tell us if you need horses. This is the house of Guru Nanak Sahib. There is nothing wrong. We would give you horses, but you would not steal. It is written in Gurbani:

“Chor ki Hama bhare na koe

Chor Kia change kiu hoe”Seeing the great humility of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji, these thieves grabbed Guru Sahib’s feet. One of the thieves was so remorseful that he climbed a nearby tree, sharpened its trunk and jumped on the trunk of the tree. The weight fell on the sharp pointed trunk of the tree and the trunk of the tree came out of his stomach. He breathed his last there. He crucified himself. Today, Gurdwara Sulisar Sahib is adorned here. At this place the thief had taken his own life and was crucified. There was that trunk here before but when we reached this place we did not see this trunk. Gurdwara Sahib, on the other hand, is adorned here. Sarovar Sahib is also present. Inside the Darbar Sahib of Gurdwara Sahib, Guru Teg Bahadur ji’s weapons are still kept by the Sikh community, including a pistol of Guru Sahib. So the next history we will hear in Series No. 68.
