Guru Teg Bahadur ji, after spending four months with Nawab Saifuddin, embarks on a campaign tour of the next village with the whole family. The Guru sahib first reaches the village of Mahmudpur, right next to Saifabad, which is in the heart of Bahadurgarh. There, on the road itself, this Gurdwra Sahib is adorned in the memory of Guru Teg Bahadur ji. The village of Raipur is a 1.5 km walk from here. Raipur is also home to Guru Teg Bahadur ji.Guru Sahib stopped here too. The village is mentioned by scholars but no history has been written. When we visited this village, inquiries revealed that the person with whom Guru Teg Bahadur ji stayed, who later became a Sikh, was Bhai Dharma Ji. Guru Ji was staying at Bhai Dharma Ji’s house and Bhai Dharma Ji was connected by Guru Ji with Naam Bani. The sangat was formed by the family of Bhai Dharma ji after the departure of Guru Teg Bahadur ji. He was succeeded by his grandson Ajmer Singh, made a permanent place from the raw building. So, Gurudwara Sahib is adorned here today with the name of Ninth Patshahi. After Raipur, the Guru  ji arrives at the village of Seal. Here too Gurdwara Sahib is adorned in the memory of Guru Sahib Ji. At that time there was a forest here. It was called the Forest of Hees. Hees is a Sanskrit word. It means a dense forest fence, in which lions, pigs or other wild animals used to make their nests. Here Guru Teg Bahadur ji spends some time under a grove of trees and then moves on to the village of Sheikhupura. Gurdwara Kusht Niwaran Sahib at Sheikhupura is also adorned. There used to be a cremation ground which was later revealed by Baba Puran Singh Ji and taken care of. Today a huge Gurdwara Sahib is adorned here. The sangat come and visit and associate with Naam Bani.

Harpalpur village is 5 km away from Sheikhupura.

In the garden of Harpalpur, Guru Teg Bahadur ji sits down and plants Gursikhi. When Mata Siyamo ji, who lives in the village, finds out, Mata Siyamo joins her family in the service of Guru Sahib and also arranges langar prasad. This is where Gurdwara Manji Sahib Patshahi IX is adorned today. There is another history here that in 1943 Sant Baba Gurbaksh Singh Ji, a resident of the same village, who had come from Bhindranwale mint. He set up a school here in 1943 and connected the children with Gurbani and Kirtan every day. They also preached in nearby villages. It was learned from this village that Sant Baba Gurbaksh Singh Ji of Harpalpur made thousands of students who went to the villages and preached. Baba Gurbaksh Singh also established other gurdwaras in nearby villages. In 1971, Baba Gurbaksh Singh Ji left this world. He was succeeded by Mahant Jai Singh Ji who is still present. A local committee was formed in 1979 under the auspices of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee.

When we visited this place, we asked where the school which used to be, where thousands of children were studying, is now. The elders told us that the school has been closed since the formation of the committee but there is only one Baba Ranbir Singh living in this village who is serving the Gurmat Vidyalaya. They go to the villages and connect the children with Naam Bani. You are visiting Gurdwara Manji Sahib in this village. There used to be a Boharh tree (banyan tree) which was cut down by Sant Sundar Singh Mandoli during the construction of Gurdwara Sahib, for which he had to go to jail. After this the Guru ji goes to the village of Hasanpur, Kabulpur. In the next series we will hear the history of village Hasanpur Kabulpur.
