When Guru Teg Bahadur ji reaches Saifabad, Nawab Saifuddin takes Guru Sahib to his palace. Coming out of the palace, when Guru Sahib saw the mosque in front, he asked the Nawab about the  mosque. So the Nawab said that the  mosque is built for performing Bandagi of Allah and performing Namaz. If a pir fakir of Allah comes from outside then this is also the abode for him. Guru Tegh Bahadur ji began to say that Nawab Sahib, why did I need to stay in the palace. If God’s abode is a mosque, then my abode would be here. So this had a profound effect on Nawab Saifuddin. Nawab Saifuddin was further impressed by Guru Teg Bahadur ji’s words that Guru Teg Bahadur  ji loved all religions. Guru Sahib Ji stayed at the house of Nawab Saifuddin. Where Gurdwara Bahadurgarh Sahib is situated today, it was a place for the rest of the family and the gathering of about 300 sangat that was alongwith Guru sahib ji. This is where the kirtan of Asa di Vaar was performed daily and the words of Gurbani were recited. Nearby sangat came and paid obeisance to Guru Sahib. According to Dr. Kirpal Singh, Guru Sahib had spent four months here. Chaumasa means  rainy days, which were spent by Guru Sahib Ji at Saifabad. After staying here for 4 months, Guru Teg Bahadur ji went to   nearby villages to preach. When Guru Teg Bahadur ji began to bid farewell to Nawab Saifuddin, the Nawab’s Begums gave Mata Gujri Ji and Mata Nanaki Ji plenty of clothes, ornaments, utensils, and other things to facilitate the journey.

Everything from the carpet to the carpet was presented to Guru Sahib. Nawab Sahib also presented several camels to Guru Sahib for loading the goods. If we go back to the history, we find that Guru Teg Bahadur ji made many journeys on horseback while living in Bakala. When Guru Teg Bahadur Ji reached Khemkaran, we have heard back that a horse was also presented to Guru Sahib in Khemkaran. Now Guru Sahib has reached Nawab Saifuddin and Nawab Saifuddin presented the horse to Guru Sahib Ji which did not get tired even after traveling thousands of miles. The horse’s name was Sridhar. This Sridhar horse was presented to Guru Teg Bahadur ji. Next we will read that this horse got sick in Banaras and Guru Tegh Bahadur ji left this horse with the Sangat of Banaras and reached Patna. Arriving at Patna, Guru Tegh Bahadur ji kept asking the sangat of Banaras and Sansram to take care of his sick horse. Guru Teg Bahadur Ji was such a philanthropist personality that he couldn’t see a single child naked and put clothes on his body. Couldn’t see a horse sick and kept writing letters for its treatment. How could the Guru ji see this when the cloak of religion was being taken off from the people?

Another fact comes to light that when Guru Teg Bahadur ji was martyred in Chandni Chowk and Nawab Saifuddin found out about it, he wore black clothes for 40 days and expressed his regret. So, this was the love between Nawab Saifuddin and Guru Teg Bahadur ji. Today there are two Gurdwaras – one at Bahadurgarh Sahib, located on the road and the other is adorned with the fort. Here Guru Teg Bahadur ji resides in the palace of Nawab Saifuddin. So, here Guru Tegh Bahadur ji starts his journey to the next village after spending the Chaumasa.

We will hear in series 49 which villages Guru Teg Bahadur ji visited. What places are built there and what history is connected there.
