In Safar-E-Patshahi IX Series No. 28 we informed the readers about the preaching tours of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji that Guru Sahib continues to preach Gurmat at Guru Ka Bagh Gurdwara
In this series we will hear that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji passes through the villages and reaches his native village
Passing through the village of Ghukewali, Guru Tegh Bahadur ji reached Tarn Taran Sahib. Tarn Taran Sahib is Guru Arjan Dev ji’s hand-built town. Here Guru Tegh Bahadur ji built a sarovar. It was at this place that Guru Arjan Dev ji opened a dispensary to distribute the pains of the poor and to treat the lepers. Guru Sahib used to give medicine to those lepers with his own hands and also used to treat them with bandages. It was a great service that Guru Sahib himself performed with his own hands.
The largest sarovar in the Sikh world is at Tarn Taran Sahib. It is 999 feet long and 990 feet wide. Gurudawara Manji Sahib is adorned on the banks of this sarovar, where Guru Sahib used to conduct kar Seva (selfless service) and treat the sick.
Guru Tegh Bahadur ji also visited here. From here Guru Sahib Ji reaches Khadur Sahib. Khadur Sahib is the place where Guru Angad Dev ji preached Sikhism. It was at this place that Guru Angad Dev ji opened the Mal Akhara, where horses were raised. While living at this place, Guru Angad Dev ji wrote 35 letters. Gurmukhi was taught by printing Gurmukhi slates. Gurdwara Darbar Sahib is adorned on this site. When Baba Amar Das ji was serving Guru Angad sahib ji for 12 years by filling a waterpot for Guru Angad Dev ji, then one day he fell down due to keeping his feet in the gorge. When the weaver asked who it was, the weaver said that it would be the same Amru Nithana who has no house or bar. Then Baba Amar Das Ji promised that Kamali, I am not Nithana, I have got the biggest place. Today, the place where the khaddi was located, and the fort from which Guru Amar Das ji fell, and the gagar are still present. Guru Sahib reaches from Khaddi to Gaddi and from Gagar to Sagar.
Gurdwara Tapeaana Sahib is located here in memory of Guru Nanak Dev ji, where Guru Nanak sahib ji himself used to sit and perform kirtan. There are many other Gurdwaras. From here Guru teg Bahadur ji reached Goindval Sahib. Goindval Sahib was established by Guru Amar Das ji at the request of Guru Angad Dev Ji. Guru Arjan Dev ji, the grandfather of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji, was also enlightened here. If you look, it is the hometown of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji because from here Guru Arjan Dev ji goes to Amritsar and Guru Tegh Bahadur ji is enlightened in the Guru ka Mahal in Amritsar. Guru Arjan Dev ji had his own town, Goindval Sahib, where he was born, and this was the native town of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji. There is also the attic of Baba Mohan ji, the son of Guru Amar Das ji, where the books of Gurbani were kept.
It was here that Guru Tegh Bahadur Dev ji’s education Guru Bhai Gurdas Ji gave up his last breath, in whose memory this place stands.
